We want to send out our annual greeting as we end 2020, and begin a new year full of possibilities! Our immediate family has been very fortunate in this difficult year, to be healthy and able to adjust to the lifestyle changes caused by the coronavirus crisis. Our thoughts are with those who have been ill or who have lost loved ones this year to COVID-19.

As we have done the past six years, we invite you to read our #NewYearsEve and #NewYearsDay 2021 #ThankYou blog post in which we thank the many people/organizations for all the great activities and events we were able to do in 2020 despite COVID-19. While not the year we planned, we are still grateful for those who made a positive difference in our lives. We also enjoy reliving the year by reviewing our 29 blog posts from 2020.

sosAssociates.com Blog Posts 2020

When we posted the first of our Social Distancing series blog posts on March 30, 2020, we did not expect to still be writing about social distancing at the end of 2020, and into the first quarter of 2021. One full year! At first we thought it would be weeks, and then maybe a few months. We look forward to the time when the need for our Social Distancing series will be in the past.

Please take time to see the blog posts below and share those that interest you. With COVID-19 closing venues we normally frequent, our 2020 blog posts are more about visiting trails in our local parks than in a normal year. These park blog posts included writing about us going beyond the number of trails required to meet the Cleveland Metroparks 2020 Trail Challenge, and Stuart completing the over-250-mile Buckeye Trail "Little Loop."

In addition to the park blog posts, we want to highlight the following blog posts as well:

  • Blog Date: April 8, 2020 - Humor and Creativity on the Twitterverse While Social Distancing
    Online humor helped this year!

. . . we got to talking about how we appreciated all the humor and creativity we were seeing on social media while everyone was social distancing. We were impressed by some of the very gifted people sharing their talents, and we liked how some people were using humor to cope with the stress of the current coronavirus crisis.

  • Blog Date: May 6, 2020 - Social Distancing with Virtual Trail Talks #CelebrateTrails #VirtualTrailDays
Stuart had been planning to backpack in New Mexico, and while there, attend the Continental Divide Trail Days event in Silver City on the weekend of April 24 - 26. He appreciated that the Continental Divide Trail Coalition hosted a "Virtual Trail Days" to help take out some of the pain Stuart felt from canceling his 2020 adventure.

  • Blog Date: October 1, 2020 - Migrating sosAssociates.com From Drupal 7 to Drupal 9
Our sosAssociates.com website, which was built on the Drupal 7 content management system, was launched over eight years ago. At the same time we have been writing blog posts this summer, Stuart was working behind the scenes on a new sosAssociates.com website. The new website is built on the new Drupal 9 system, which launched on June 3, 2020. Stuart launched his new Drupal 9 website on October 1, 2020, since it was a special date -- his eleventh Twitter anniversary.
Stuart created a Bootstrap 3 SubTheme while migrating our sosAssociates.com website from Drupal 7 to Drupal 9.
