Sunday, September 29, 2024 - The 19th Annual Remembering the Sights and Sounds of Euclid Beach Park

The 19th Annual Remembering the Sights and Sounds of Euclid Beach Park

At Euclid Beach Park Now, we believe in the importance of preserving the history of Cleveland, Ohio's most famous and beloved amusement park. Join us on a journey through time as we explore the history of this park. Discover how you can be a part of this mission.

Euclid Beach Park is part of the Cleveland Metroparks system:

Once the site of the famous Euclid Beach Amusement Park, Euclid Beach Park now features a 650’ beach with shaded picnic areas, a scenic observation pier and a reservable pavilion. Though it closed in 1969, signs of the amusement park including the shuffleboard area, remnants of the beachside fountain and concrete footers of the Flying Turns roller coaster are still visible.

The 19th Annual Remembering the Sights and Sounds of Euclid Beach Park was a tribute to John A. Frato, who recently passed away. John was board president of Euclid Beach Park Now, and one of the Euclid Beach Boys. Contributions in John's memory may be made to a passion of his, The Euclid Beach Park Grand Carousel at the Cleveland History Center in University Circle.

My whole family volunteered at this event. My wife and co-blogger, Julie, and my son, Kevin, are on the board of Euclid Beach Park Now. My son, Michael, and I help out at Kevin's booth every year.

Kevin displayed his huge amusement park memorabilia collection of artifacts from Euclid Beach Park, Puritas Park, Geauga Lake Park, Luna Park and more! You can learn more by reading Facebook posts from Kevin’s NE Ohio Amusement Memories.

When viewing the following photos from the event, please make note that Kevin created models on his 3D printer of the Euclid Beach Park Rocket Ship, the famous Euclid Beach Park Arch, and a special tribute to the memory of Euclid Beach Boys’ John A Frato. Michael did the 3D design work on the Rocket Ship, and helped with the 3D design on the Arch.
