After attending the largest peaceful protest in the history of the United States -- the Saturday, March 28, 2026, No Kings Day 3 -- I thought it was important to create this blog post for two reasons:

  • First, and most importantly, to thank both the national and local organizers that made this historic event happen!

  • Secondly, to honor the millions of participants by sharing my photos/videos and those of others from the big day.

I have mentioned in this blog post some of the organizations that hosted protests. My purpose is to honor everyone who is making a difference, and any omissions are not intended.

A month ago, I wrote in my fourteenth Blogiversary post the reason that I have been writing fewer blog posts so far this year:

Unfortunately in this, the 250th year of our country, I have been attending many protests to stop the felon in the White House instead of going to the positive community events that normally start the year.

Thus, it is appropriate that this blog post, which starts my fifteenth year of blogging, is about the largest protest event in the history of the United States.

To start this blog post, I thought it would be interesting to list the impressive number of locations of the No Kings Day 3 protests in our Northeast Ohio area. A total of 17 locations were identified on the Indivisible NEO No Kings Day 3 featured event web page, which I helped in maintaining:

This country does not belong to kings, dictators, or tyrants. It belongs to We the People — the people who care, who show up, and who fight for dignity, a life we can afford, and real opportunity. No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings.

On March 28, 2026, we will join with people all across the United States to peacefully mobilize to declare with one voice — America has No Kings!

NO KINGS Chagrin Gateway/Pepper Pike - Hosted by Chagrin Gateway Democrats

We have the power and are claiming it together. No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings.

What began in 2025 as a single day of defiance has become a sustained national resistance to tyranny, spreading from small towns to city centers and across every community determined to defend democracy. Our peaceful movement is bigger than ever.

When our families are under attack and costs are pushing people to the brink, silence is not an option. We will defend ourselves and our communities against this administration’s unjust and cruel acts of violence.

On March 28th, rise up, take to the streets, and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings. We’re not watching history happen—we’re making it. Join us.

Near the beginning of the protest in Pepper Pike, I talked to one of the organizers, who was doing a count of the attendees. They told me that 500 to 600 protesters were already there, and more were still arriving. Here is a video of my photos/videos from the morning No Kings Day 3 event I attended:

I recommend viewing videos in full screen mode.
Please pause the video to look more closely at the wording of the protest signs in the slides!! I strongly believe these messages are important and should be shared with others.

No Kings 3--Great Lakes Mall--Mentor Ohio 12-2pm - Hosted by Ohio District 14 Partners

In 2025, millions of Americans came together in nonviolent protest to oppose the growing authoritarian actions of the Trump administration and affirm that this nation belongs to its people, not to kings. Since then, people have continued to rise up nonviolently against the Trump administration’s ongoing brutality and abuses of power, including the latest escalation in Minnesota. The No Kings Coalition is activating an immediate and ongoing nationwide digital organizing effort leading up to our next mass mobilization on March 28, including a flagship event in the Twin Cities.

Please join us at the Great Lakes Mall in Mentor, Ohio to support the protection and improvement of democracy. Stand in solidarity with our Immigrant neighbors, Minnesotans, and all the victims of the insidious actions of the Trump Administration.

. . .

-This protest is supported by Ohio District 14 Partners, 50501, Progress NEO, Like Minded in Lake County, and Burning River Bridge Brigade.

. . .

-Please find ways to protect democracy before and after the protest.

-Please go to your local pro-democracy, political office and offer help, volunteer at a local organization, send postcards for democracy, make phone calls about issues and candidates via Mobilize, donate to and volunteer for candidates (primaries are in May), make art, join a local organization like Indivisible, 50501, Standing Up for Racial Justice, or Red Wine and Blue, and most importantly talk to your family, friends, and neighbors about what is going on. If everybody gives just 15 minutes a week, then we can move the needle in the favor of democracy over authoritarianism, community over fear, and joy over hate.

-Have fun protecting democracy. Lead with Peace and Joy.

Here is a video of my photos/videos from the afternoon event that my wife and co-blogger, Julie; my son, Michael; and I attended. Note that although I was walking along the route of the protest taking photos, I never saw the ends of the protest area. It just looked like it went on forever. Prior to the event, organizers stated that they were planning on filling the space from "Plaza Blvd to Eleanor Garfield Park." After the event, Julie read on Facebook that there were 3,500 participants.

I recommend viewing videos in full screen mode.
Please pause the video to look more closely at the wording of the protest signs in the slides!! I strongly believe these messages are important and should be shared with others.

. . . an estimated 8 million people turned out for the third No Kings Day of Nonviolent Action across more than 3,300 events in all 50 states and every continent, local and national organizers of the nation’s largest single-day nationwide protest . . .

. . . By bringing tens of thousands of new protesters into the fold, the No Kings coalition is flooding local organizations with the exact people power needed to escalate our tactics and sustain this fight for the long haul. . . .

. . . The Trump administration and its enablers are still trying to rig the rules, suppress the vote, and sabotage our elections. So, we will not stop either, and we have the momentum:

. . . Organizers saw staggering event numbers in multiple traditionally “red” states, including Texas (127 events), Florida (121 events), and Ohio (113 events).

Here is a collection of photos and videos I want to share about No Kings Day 3 in my state of Ohio and beyond:

I always like to include in my blog posts a list of related posts that may be of interest to my readers, so here are two that are tagged as "Protest," since they include photos from local protests:

A very important related blog post is the one I wrote about attending the Disinformation Panel Discussion at the University Of Akron's Institute for Human Science and Culture. As a country, we got to our current situation because of a large number of Americans believing the disinformation/misinformation coming from the felon in the White House and his supporters. If you want to learn more, please watch the full, hour-long video in the blog post: Panel Discussion: Misinformation Society

What’s Next?

We showed up. And it mattered. Millions of us took to the streets for No Kings on March 28th and made it clear: we don’t do kings; not now, not ever.

But these days of action are not enough. Because the truth is: they’re not stopping. They’re still trying to rig the rules, suppress the vote, and sabotage our elections. So we’re not stopping either.

Ready to keep up the momentum?

The success of the Saturday, March 28, 2026, No Kings Day 3 is not the end point, but only the beginning of putting more pressure on our current government to make our country better. Please follow and share on social media the No Kings partner organizations' action steps. Join some of the local organizations as they plan more events. A good place to start in Northeast Ohio is with the Indivisible NEO event calendar at IndivisibleNEO.org/#calendar Nationally, please watch for updates on the No Kings' What's Next web page: NoKings.org/whats-next
