Cleveland Indians Social Suite

Thank you, Cleveland Indians, for inviting us to watch the May 30, 2014, game against the Colorado Rockies from the Indians Social Suite. We had a great time watching the Tribe win the game with a score of 5 to 2! We especially want to thank Courtney Shilling (@cshillz) from the Indians organization for planning our evening.

We enjoyed a fantastic view of the game from the Social Suite, and as a special treat, watched a terrific post-game fireworks show from the visitors dugout! Our photos and videos will give you a sense of the fun of the evening, plus you can check out the Cleveland Indians interactive 3-D seat map here to load a computer animation of the Social Suite (Using @Ballenatech's virtual architecture).

When we attended, it was @SugardaleFoods #DollarDogs Night in #TribeTown, so we ate well in the @Indians #SocialSuite. There were even some surprise moments, including a marriage proposal on the field! The Indians organization does a great job of making the game experience really special with these extra touches.

A Little History

Inside the Indians Social Suite

A little history -- and a point of pride for Cleveland -- about the Social Media Suite: Cleveland Indians President Mark Shapiro (@MarkShapiro) created the idea of a special social media section of the stadium in 2010, making Progressive Field the first ballpark in the country to engage the community using social media in this way.

We were fortunate that our first time attending was part of the inaugural year of the Cleveland Indians social media program. It was exciting to be part of something that was the first at a baseball stadium anywhere in the world. We attended as a result of the Cleveland Social Media Club (@SMCCLE) TweetUp that Julie D’Aloiso (@JulieDAloiso) organized on May 4, 2010. The TweetUp took place at the Tribe Social Media Deck, as it was then called (it was located in a section of the bleachers). It was later moved to a special suite.

We have also been to several Cleveland TweetUps sponsored by Cleveland.com in partnership with Cleveland Indians and other sport teams, which we promote in our weekly blog of Cleveland tech and social media events. We recommend watching for announcements at: Cleveland.com/Tweetup
