"Eight Days a Week" of Fun
A flurry of activity! In late April and early May of 2018, I had eight busy days of activities! I originally created this as one single blog post listing all nine events, but later decided to publish nine posts to make it easier to find for my website visitors to read.
I still think of it as one post that I hope will not only give you insight into my eight-day week, but more importantly, encourage you to support these organizations with your presence at future events.
1) Sunday, April 29, 2018 - REI Cleveland Free Day of Fun at Holden Arboretum
3) Tuesday, May 1, 2018 - CDPUG iMac Pro Video Briefing at Apple Eton
5) Thursday, May 3, 2018 - Cleveland Museum of Natural History Members Behind-The-Scenes Night
6) Friday, May 4, 2018 - MIX: Spectacle at Cleveland Museum of Art
7) Saturday, May 5, 2018 - Akron Waterways Renewed! Blue Heron Homecoming
8) Saturday, May 5, 2018 - Fifth Annual Station Hope
9) Sunday, May 6, 2018 - 2018 Bald Eagle Fest at Cleveland Museum of Natural History's Mentor Marsh

The Blue Heron Homecoming is an annual environmental festival that allows community members a chance to learn about the Akron Waterways Renewed! program. The festival features representatives from the City of Akron, firms involved with the AWR! program, and partners such as local non-profits and environmental groups.
For year four, we will be moving back to the City's Water Reclamation Facility! More information on the WRF is available here.
The festival is named for the great blue herons that nest nearby. This four-foot-tall bird is native to the area, but its population was declining due to the poor water quality of the Cuyahoga River. Since efforts were made to improve water quality, the great blue heron has seen a resurgence in the area, and is commonly seen along the Towpath Trail, Ohio & Erie Canal, Cuyahoga River and Little Cuyahoga River. This resurgence is a testament to the work that's been done so far, and serves as a reminder of the positive impact that the AWR! program is having on the local environment. You can learn more about the great blue heron at the Cuyahoga Valley National Park website here.
The Blue Heron Homecoming will take place on May 5, 2018 this year!
After visiting Wally Waterdrop (@WallyWaterdrop) on September 27, 2014, to tour the Southerly Wastewater Treatment Plant of the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (@NEORSD), I thought it would be interesting to attend the Akron Waterways Renewed! (@AkronWaterways) Blue Heron Homecoming when I learned that it was taking place at the Akron Water Reclamation Facility.

Other paper & toiletries products should NOT go in your toilet.
Remember what goes in toilet ends up in Lake Erie where your drinking water comes from!
